Letter from Coach Before National Tournament in Orlando, Florida
I am writing this on behalf of a very special 8th grade boys’ basketball team called the Boston Warriors. We are hoping to raise money to assist in our quest to play in the Nationals.
The team is made up of players from surrounding cities/towns. They have competed at the highest possible level on the basketball court this year. We have competed in 5 tournaments up to this point, performing fantastically in each one of them. Recently, in the New England Super Regional, we finished 5-1 with our only loss coming in the finals by 2 points in overtime. In the State tournament, we again finished with a record of 5-1, losing in the finals by 3. Both of these outstanding finishes qualified us to play for the National Championship. Not only do they get to represent the State of Massachusetts, but they get to play against the best 8th graders in the country.
Their outstanding performances are not limited to just the basketball court. Along with basketball, these players excel at other sports such as soccer, baseball, lacrosse, football, and hockey, just to name a few. They are also Honor Roll students, members of the National Junior Honor Society, Character Congress Recipients, and sought after role models to speak to other children.
The AAU Basketball Committee has estimated the cost to be $1,200.00 per player. This is a lot of money for these young men and their families. This estimation includes, among other things, airfare, board, meals, gymnasium usage for games and practices, mandatory liability insurance and membership for each player. In return for your kind donation, we will advertise your business on this website, in “Warriors Donors” box (instructions to be emailed upon request). In addition to this, we will make every other attempt to advertise your business, whether in the newspaper, booklets, or word of mouth throughout our towns.
We’re requesting a response as soon as possible as we have to begin making deposits on hotels, transportation and other required services. The tournament begins on August 1st and we need to make all of our arrangements by the time registration ends on July 5th. We would greatly appreciate any and all financial assistance.
If you should have any questions please feel free to contact me directly either via email or the telephone. Please make checks payable to Warriors AAU Basketball and mail to the address below. Thank you in advance for your consideration and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
They and I will do our best to make you proud.
Sincerely,
Jason A. Coughlin
8th grade Warriors Coach

Boston Warriors in Summer Heat Shootout Tournament
See the Warriors in action at the Summer Heat Shootout Tournament on 6/2 - 6/3 in Worcester, MA. They were 3-1, they lost in the finals to CMAC.
Boston Warriors in Practice
See the Warriors in practice. The boys have worked hard throughout the season to be able to compete at the high level. They are learning skills which will carry them beyond basketball: hard work and team work. It is as much fun watching the team practice as it is watching them play.
